The Story
Shaïna Dormevil
Designer de mode / Illustratrice
My name is Shaïna Dormevil. I was born in Montreal and I am also of Haitian origin. My artistic journey has been deeply influenced by my family.
From a very young age, I developed an interest in the art world thanks to my older brother, a talented artist. I would get carried away by a wave of intrigue that flooded my mind whenever I flipped through his drawing portfolio.
Thanks to our mother, who loved art, we were able to explore our artistic talent. Let me tell you, our home was always filled with papers and drawings.
Artistic Process
As I grew up, I set a goal for myself to master traditional drawing. Over time, I explored other artistic mediums such as Copic and Touch marker drawing, acrylic painting, watercolor, and digital art.
Throughout my artistic journey, discovering digital art became a turning point. Fascinated by the possibilities offered by technology, I began integrating digital techniques. Gradually, I started and finished my drawings on Photoshop, Illustrator, or Procreate.
Through my art, I highlight the beauty of the Black community and my passion for science fiction. My goal as an artist is to share my vision of the world and make my family and friends proud.
